Job Title: Machine Learning Research Intern

Are you a MS or PhD student at a highly reputable institution? Do you have exceptional skills in machine learning and statistics? Do you enjoy diving into noisy data and extracting insights? We are looking for an exceptional machine learning research intern!

Magnetick AI is a Silicon Valley startup focused on providing data-driven insights to individual traders in the stock market. We are looking for a highly skilled machine learning intern to join our team remotely for a period of three months.

In this role, we expect to you to:

• Find patterns in stock price movements to predict future directions,
• Use ideas from finance literature when needed,
• Clean and process noisy market data,
• Develop your own statistical and machine learning models using traditional (e.g., random forests, support vector machines) as well as modern (e.g., LSTMs, transformers) architectures,
• Implement and demonstrate your ideas using Python.

Requirements:

• Must be an MS or PhD student at a highly reputable institution,
• Exceptional skills in machine learning and statistics,
• Proficient in Python and its relevant libraries (TensorFlow / PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, Statsmodels),
• Strong understanding of mathematics, especially probability and statistics,
• Experience in quantitative research.
