What is SEO? Do we optimize search engines in SEO?

SEO consists of two terminologies. SE, the Search Engine designed to carry out web searches, is a software system that has been created to search for and find out specific information from the World Wide Web- WWW, i.e., the Internet. Thousands of websites and millions of TBs of data are stored on the internet which is available for a user to consume through the search engines like GOOGLE and Bing. Optimization by definition of it is “The action of making the best or most effective use of a situation or resource”. Optimization in Search Engines is the efficient use of search engines more productively and advantageously.

Tampering with googles’ backend and taking your website to the top by changing the algorithm and code is not the kind of task that can be done. Search Engine is the kind of software that has been made by putting in a lot of effort and provides its consumers with a highly protected and secure network. On that note, one cannot optimize the search engines but rather optimize the website to rank in the top positions in the search engines.

Why do we need SEO? What is On-page & Off-page SEO?

The term SEO is so spoken due to its unapologetically wide range of uses and preferences for marketers and businessmen. For a person, running his/her business through a website SEO can greatly influence the quality and quantity of the audience coming from the search engine. It also assists in increasing brand awareness, attracting local customers, and building credibility and interest without having to spend a single penny.

To increase the footfall of visitors or traffic to a website a person can take advantage of two types of SEOs:

On-Page SEO; Using tools like Google Ads, Ahrefs, and semrush to identify popular search terms and keywords associated with the blog article that is going to be published on the web page is one way to optimize the website in terms of both content and technical aspects. Other methods include optimizing the HTML Source Code, Schema, and Meta tags. Incorporating the search terms into the articles when they are related to a wider range of relevant blog pages. Start by writing an introduction that tells a story and can draw readers in, naturally including keywords for the blog’s remainder. In addition, one can enhance the content’s credibility and engagement by adding images, videos, and time-lapses related to the blog post. Subsequently, convincing search engines to display your content to a wider audience. The meta-content or meta-description of the website, which the search engine displays when looking for relevant content, comes next. We optimize a variety of tags, including header, alt, and meta-tags.

This completes the On-page aspect of SEO.

Off-Page SEO; is utilized to boost the page’s search engine visibility. To boost a website’s rankings in search engines, off-page SEO involves doing things that are not visible on the page. The site’s popularity, relevance, trustworthiness, and authority would rise as a result of external optimization. This is possible with the assistance of trustworthy websites, vouching for your content with the assistance of backlinks, guest blogging, Linked/Unlinked brand mentions, Influencer Marketing, and other methods. One must promote the content on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram as well as niche platforms like Quora, Reddit, and Medium to reach an audience. Sending stronger signals to search engines like Bing and Google, would help the platform reach a larger audience, resulting in the page being displayed as highly relevant for audiences and related searches. In addition, there are numerous online learning platforms for SEO, so it is only a matter of time before you begin implementing your SEO knowledge on your website and witness a significant increase in views. Setting up an online store can even help you start making money in the beginning.
